American Eagles
Originally minted in 1986, the American gold eagle has a fineness of .9167 fine gold, or 22 karat. The obverse side of the coin bears an image originally designed for the United States mint over a century ago by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, and features the image of Lady Liberty confidently holding a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left. The reverse side carries the image of a bald eagle with its wings outstretched, flying towards its nest.
