Description
The first issue release of the South African Krugerrand was in 1967 in an effort to put south africa on the map in the precious metals market. The gold South African Krugerrand has a fineness of .9167 fine gold, or 22 karat. The front design of the coin bears the springbok antelope. The obverse side of the coin has the image of president Paul Kruger along with the name of the country “South Africa”.
